Joining the church
When we become members of The United Methodist Church, the pastor asks several questions. The final question is, "Will you be loyal to the United Methodist Church, and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service?"

This United Methodist church is not a congregation dedicated to creeds. We will not tell you what to believe. We will ask questions and try to challenge beliefs which you may have begun to take for granted. We are a community dedicated to caring for one another, celebrating together, challenging each other and ultimately making disciples for Jesus Christ.

There are several forms of membership at Collegiate UMC:

Affiliate Membership - you may retain membership in your home United Methodist Church if you are planning to be in Ames area for an extended stay (this is ideal for college students).

Associate Membership - you may retain membership in your home church of another denomination while you are in Ames (also ideal for college students).

Full Membership - sole membership is at Collegiate UMC.

New Member Coffees are scheduled periodically September through May to meet with pastors to learn and ask questions about Collegiate/Wesley and The United Methodist Church. Contact the church office to register for the next class, 515-292-6936.
